Spirit At Ease
No topic is more personal than one's view of the almighty, their belief in a greater power than ourselves. Religion and the
belief in the spirit have allowed us to harness our wildness, create order, share love and compassion, and build communities and nations.
But the arrogance that goes with one's belief has led to prejudice, corruption, and untold violence of every kind and form. It may be folly
to think that we can ever come together as a single humanity when it comes to our belief in an almighty being. A world religion cannot be
conceived of by even the most visionary. As terrorists inflict self-destruction and hatred on others, we struggle to cope with the inhumanity
that has surrounded us throughout history. Are there basic tenets of goodness that will lead us to a world humanity?
Here are some possible solutions and lessons to follow.
Recognize that life comes from the earth and not from the sky. If you stop breathing, you die. If you stop eating, you die. If you lose a connection
to the physical world, you die. It is this earth that provides our reality yet we often ignore the signs that we are killing it.
